Hello

I discovered Serendipity a few weeks ago and I find it fantastic ! Thank you all for you great job on it !!!

I'm currently building my site, and found a great theme, but it seems there is some problems.

The theme is Smarty-Tabacco (http://www.fsagx.be/smarty-tabaccov01.zip), my site http://www.fsagx.be/serendipity3/.

I think this theme was OK for Serendipity 0.8, but with 0.9, I have the 2 following errors : when clicking on "Edit the post" on the public area when I'm logged as admin, It shows me a blank page, and when clicking on "Comments" under a post, it only shows "#1 Anonym" as the authors of comments... Maybe there are other problems, I don't know...

Author of this theme : Frédéric Wenzel, blog.magenson.de, do a search for "tabacco" on his site, there is 2-3 post from him.

Somebody could help me please ?

Ho, if it can help : when connecting to http://www.fsagx.be/serendipity3/, Internet explorer tells me there is an error on page :

"Line: 126
Char: 208
Error: Unterminated string constant
Code: 0
URL: http://www.fsagx.be/serendipity3/"

What is the URL of the blank page you are getting? Since I'm not logged in on your blog, it's hard to see.

Blank pages are usually a good indicator for a PHP coredump or Fatal Error, which would be unrelated to the actual template.

This link is actually not created by the tobacco theme, but by a plugin. The "editlink" plugin, which you seem to have installed. That one is AFAIK outdated, since Serendipity internally provides this functionality if you are logged in via cookie...

The reason ist, the file "serendipity_entries.php" is no longer in serendipity since version 0.7 or 0.8 already. Instead, all administrative tasks are now routed through "serendipity_admin.php"...

Sorry, but I don't find this "editlink" plugin in my plugins list...

And when I choose an other theme, everything works fine !

That makes me think it's a Tabacco theme problem...

Yes,this would be helpful to see/get, because I don't really understand where the troublecomes from.

You installed the theme via Spartacus from our CVS repository, right?

The fist time I used Tabacco theme, I installed it via Spartacus from your CVS repository, yes. It is called Blogger-Tabacco 0.1 theme, Frédéric Wenzel, blog.magenson.de, last update : 10/17/2004.

When I realized there was a problem, I went on blog.magenson to check if there was an updtade, and yes, there was one : Smarty-Tabacco 0.1 theme, made from Blogger-Tabacco theme the 11/19/2004.

So I downloaded it (Smarty Tabacco) and installed it in the theme directory of Serendipity... But problems are there again...

I'll send you my login/password, so you can have a look... but don't run, enjoy the end of 2005 and have a great 2005-2006 night !
