the easiest way is to use the SPARTACUS plugin. Its an automatical install system that allows you to install all other additional plugins and themes directly from the backend of your serendipity installation.

to install Spartacus go to the configure plugins menu, choose to install a new event plugin and select spartacus. [note: make your plugins directory writeable!]

It didn't succeed with me
It gives this massage
The URL http://s9y.org/mirror//package_sidebar_sa.xml could not be opened. Maybe the Serendipity or SourceForge.net Server is down - we are sorry, you need to try again later

You may want to download the full archive here: http://netmirror.org/mirror/serendipity ... lugins.tgz. To be sure that it contains last updates that you are interested in, wait 24 hours until it is rebuilt.

Another aproach is to install CVS client program on your machine. Then you will be able to download exactly what you need (only). Here is S9Y on sourceforge : http://sourceforge.net/projects/php-blog/. However, the core is outdated there, while plugins are up to date.

Way: You selected s9y.org as mirror location. That one is not yet online. Choose SF.Net as your download mirror, like the default setting is.
