No JavaScipt?

Post by Peter »

Hi there,

I set up a weblog for my girlfriend (that's important, men would not do something like that ;)) and now she want snow falling down on her website.

So I have to include JavaScript code to her weblog. I tried to edit the index.tpl (Kubrick theme) and inserted the JavaScript code. The browser said something like "the return tag is unknown". After that I tried to insert the code into the index.php
a) before the other code (doesn't work because of the session management), b) betwenn the other code (doesn't appear in the parsed HTML code at all),
c) after the code (is kind of excluded like a HTML comment)
After that I set up a HTML nugget for the sidebar. The code appears in the sourcecode but isn't executed.

Is there anything I could do else?

Thanks in advance
Peter

You say to her: No, please not! ;-)

The last twise weeks somewhere posted about this problem, too. I think the end was he deleted this code. Please use the search funktion and have a look.

Hello Falk,

hmmm... apparently I am stupid. There is a German board. I didn't search in that one. I found a snow-thread there but I cannot use the solution.

But I found one by myself: Don't paste the code directly into the index.tpl but create a .js file and include it into the index.tpl. Works great.

BTW: She loves it....

Hey, that sounds cool! Can I see the page and/or Javascript?

I'll let her play my Christmas game. (Not like she couldn't anyway.) :)

Neat. It's pretty jerky on my system, though. I wonder if we could do something with DHTML that would be smoother...

Try out my Java Christmas game!
