character corruption on import from blogger

hi ,

A couple of problems

1. I imported my blog over from blogger. But I am facing character corruption in my posts. Everything is in utf-8 still it is converting characters to garbage characters.

2. Also, the formatting on index.html is getting screwed up. instead of being justified , its taking shaped of its own. I tired to mend this bt editing the post , but in the WYSIWYg editor eveything looks fine and gets screwed up on publishing.

Hi sid!

Your import problems seems to stem from a strange originating charset. Since the blogger import is somewhat unstable (as it relies on a HTML export) you need to ensure that the source encoding is the same as the target encoding. Do you still have the html file with your entries? Make sure it's in UTF-8 encoding -- it currently seems to be in a ISO-format or something similar.

What do you mean with the formatting problem exactly? Do you want all your text to look justified? You would need to set a "text-align: justify" within your CSS template then...?!
