Drupal blog vs s9y blog

Post by aacircle »

Hi All,

Once again I am considering the move from s9y to Drupal. Main reason is that I run vBulletin forum, and there is a hack to tie in nicely Drupal with vBulletin. So users of vBulletin can use their same username for Drupal.

But, I really love s9y. Does anyone know which is better for search engine spidering and pings? If I move to Drupal, I'm worried my blogs wont get indexed as fast as they do in s9y.

I wonder if there will ever be a hack to tie in s9y with vBulletin....

Thank you.

Sadly I don't use vBulleting, and don't intend to (willingly for free at least), but a transparent login mirroring like we have a LDAP plugin for should work.

Anyhow, I do think you should not be worried about indexing and pinging services with Drupal, they should work well, too. However Drupal is developed community-specific, and more of a community journal, whereas Serendipity focusses on extensible and powerful, standards compliant and flexible blogging and CMS solutions.

Thanks Garvin.... will look into it more deeply regarding switching camps. I really like s9y due to it's powerful features. Have to think what users really want though...

Cheers!

Yes, you're right about that issue. Maybe you want to try out the forums plugin, developed by dma147? Then you wouldn't need vbulletin anymore :))
