I have installed a statistic plug in to count number of visiters. However it does not show any numbers.
Here is a set up I see:
Maximum items
How many items to display per statistical value? (Default: 20)
Extended Visitors Statistics
Add Extended Visitors Statistics feature? (default: no) No! Yes, at the bottom of the page Yes, at the top of the page
Ban browsers from beeing counted
Insert browsers that should be excluded from counting, separated by "|"
but when I see the statistic page, I see only this:
Nr of vistors
Nr of vistors today: 0
Total nr of vistors: 0
Latest Visitors
Top Referrers
No referrers has yet been registered.
all the other statistics about my entries and so on work normally.
how can I see number of entries. and how can I set the counter since ?
thanks a lot for answering

Yes, sadly it seems as if the visitor tracking is not properly working in the plugin.
I'll look into this and report back here

Hi, I found the above counter at a friend's site. Maybe there are other counters like this, do you think it will be no harm installing this? I am worried about spams as they cannot be installed with anti-spam protection.
Do you konw other software which we can use for "counting" visitors. I prefer not to show the counter in the real web.
What do other people do when to count visitors of your blog?
How long does the fix of our plugin take?
Thanks again

I fixed the plugin yesterday and it should be contained in our nightly snapshots, if you want to download those!
I've heard of other people using bbclone, you might want to search that up in the forums?

Garvin and Rob,
Thank you for your answers. I re-installed the statistic plug in but it still does not work. If you mean a different plug-in, please show me.
Meanwhile, I tried the right stats.counter. It seems to double count the entries the same location goes. Also, it does not appear (maybe I choose an invisible setting?) on the screen.
For a substitute, I found the following free-counter with lots of designs. Sorry this is in Japanese.
http://counter.yaboo.jp/howto/
What I did was to put the following texts in "creative commons". then it shows the design on my blog site. Here, I chose a cat with a fish design (design number 2748) with 2 digits.
<script type="text/javascript">design=2748;</script><script type="text/javascript">figure=2;</script><script type="text/javascript" src="
http://counter2.yaboo.jp/c.js"></script>
you can choose a design number in the site:
http://counter.yaboo.jp/howto/design_li ... h2=&page=3
So now I have a counter on screen with a cat with fishes.
However, I do not like a sign of "creative commons" appears below the counter as this is much bigger than my counter design.
Is there another way to show a linked counter without using a "creative commons" plug in ? or to show the creative commons sign smaller?
Kind regards,

You can use CSS to hide the img maybe; what's your URL where you put the counter?

Garvin,
I put the counter in the blog site of
http://www.auderghem-analytica.com/miopiano/
The counter sometimes does not show well. Now, the design is with a panda. I also put chat box for a free trial now. Now I am trying to manage a link.
As I am new to computer and a blog, these are challenges...takes long time.
Thank you for letting me know how to do.
Kind regards

Ah, sadly the panda is part of the full counting image, so there's no way to strip that one! You can only live with it, or search for some other counters like that one

Garvin,
thank you very much for your answer.. In fact, Panda is all right but what I meant was the "some rights reserved" mark. I suppose this is obligation to put. so I will go with this.
For now, I use both counters. Invisible counter with Right Stats and the panda counter. The panda counter shows a statistic (in Japanese) for everyone who click this counter. Strangely, both counters' number shows discrepancy even though I ask the double counting function for both.
In any case, I have a counter which seems to work
Kind regards,
K

I think your "Some reights reserved" block is because you installed the CreativeCommons plugin into your Sidebar of Serendipity? Of course you can remove that in the Serendipity plugin configuration...?!

Garvin,
Oh !? I am not sure if I am doing then in the correct method to input the data from external source. as I use this creative commons plugin to input my clocks and counters. What I want is to show the below thing in the side bar for a case of counter. Now I copy the below in the box of titile in the creative commons' plugin. What are the other way to input those in the side bar?
<script type="text/javascript">again=90;design=2765;</script><script type="text/javascript">figure=5;</script><script type="text/javascript" src="
http://counter2.yaboo.jp/c.js"></script><script language="javascript" src="
http://www.neoworx.net/neoboard/board.p ... "></script>
As I am new to the blog and the PC language, I have many questions.
Thank you for your patience.

Ah, you need to install a "HTML Nugget" plugin for that!

Garvin,
Is it in the sidebar plugin or in the event plugin?
I found "HTML Nugget" in the side plugin and installed and wrote in the area looks like a word document.
It shows directly on the screen:
script type="text/javascript">again=90;design=2765;</script><script type="text/javascript">figure=5;</script><script type="text/javascript" src="
http://counter2.yaboo.jp/c.js"></script><script language="javascript" src="
http://www.neoworx.net/neoboard/board.p ... "></script>
no image...
I also tried to put the following by each in the event plugin.
HTML Link Metatags
Inserts metatags into your frontend for better navigation.
Author: Garvin Hicking; version: 1.1; (Spartacus)
HTML Nugget on Page
Puts an HTML nugget on top or bottom of the page, or inside the page's HEAD tag
Author: Wesley Hwang-Chung; version: 1.9
But not working....
Thank you for your kindness.

Garvin,
I am not sure if this is correct. After I install the "HTML Nugget" in the sidebar plugin without writing anything there. I add in the HTML codes which I wanted to put in the existing creative commons. Then this shows what I wanted without the licence tag.
So it did a trick for now.
However, I am not sure if I am doing in the correct method. I should research more of the HTML nugget functions.
Good night.
