Is there a way/pluggin that allows me to attach a pdf or zip to a post?

not until now...
But in conjunction with the downloadmanager-plugin you can provide a link to an uploaded file in the downloadmanager.

Plus, you can of course just insert a link within your entry using the s9y media library...
