Images not linkable with WYSIWYG editor

Hi!

When creating a new entry, images are not linkable with the WYSIWYG editor. I've to switch it off every time and edit the code to embed the image in an a href tag, which is "a little bit" annoying. Does anybody knows a solution for this?
How to add links to images using the WYSIWYG editor?

It's quite easy. First place you cursor where you want the image to display and then just click the button that looks like a mountain with a picture frame around it. Once it opens (you may have to use control click if you have pop-up blocker set or disable pop ups) enter the URL to the picture you want to display. You have some control as to the position and margin (in pixels) for the text flow around the image. I often switch to HTML to further add qualifers (size, border spacing, etc..).

Now if only I could add captions it would be complete. I'm not speaking of ALT tags which display if you hover over the image, I'm talking captions in smaller font, displayed centered below the image. Just dreaming...

Hi!
Well, this adds an image but I want this image clickable to a link, I specify. And this isn't possible with the WYSIWUG editor. I can specify alt tag and some other options, but I can't add a link.
Is there a trick how the WYSIWUG editor can be modified to add this option?

Why not use the "Media manager" functionality of SErendipity? This gives you control over your s9y mediadatabase to choose your images, and also put links into it.

You should be able to select the image and then click on the Link icon to put links on an image, as well though.
