Hello
I installed the newest stable version of serendipity and the xml-rpc plugin. I'm now trying to add new entry with attensa, a client/plugin for outlook.
This soft allow normally to post to "xml-rpc aware" blog server. It work with some known blogs server, like blogger.com.
To post, this soft require just an URL, so i put the url to my serendipity_xmlrpc.php page (i tried this url and all is ok with it, the plugin is installed)
Even with this url, Attensa is still not able to post through serendipity.
Do someone have any idea about this?
Thanks for all
Nicholas

Can you try with a client like ecto, marsEdit or wBloggar? Those three tools are known to work with s9y XML-RPC (preferred Blogger/MT API).
I have never heard of attensa, which API does it use? s9y does not support the full range of the metaWeblog API, so it may send invalid requests...
Best regards,

In fact i need an api integreted in outlook
Attensa is a plugin that
- aggregate RSS and allow user to read RSS in is outlook inbox
- allow to post through a server a mail reformatted to xml-rpc format
When you receive a mail you want to publish, you just have to push a "publish" button, and it s on your blog!
I m going to try the api you told me.. but if they are not plugin for outlook, it won t be good for my use. My users just know outlook and will not agree using another api for something now they don t know... (like all users not really interessed by computer)

You could watch the same topic on the attensa forum :

You might want to ask the People from Attensa which API they use for XML-RPC: metaWeblog, Blogger, MT or another one.
I am most sure that either their autodetection does not play with Serendipity, or they use an API with unknown method calls for Serendipity.
Sadly I don't own Outlook, so it seems I cannot try Attensa.

Attensa use the Atom Publishing Protocol. Is serendipity able to work with this protocol?

No, Serendipity only supports XML-RPC. A plugin could be created for Atom posting, but does not yet exist.
