Hi out there,
my wife is testing the multilingual plugin but unfortunately the
blog does not change the language of the user interface.
Any hints are welcome.
Thanks in advance.

If you are logged in to serendipity, your local define language has precedence over the language you choose in the frontend. This is a bit of a glitch or oddity, I agree.
To change the language properly, you need to be logged out of serendipity (or use a different browser where you are not logged in).
I can view the entries fine on that mentioned blog in a different language
