I changed the database table prefix, using Serendipity Administration Suite.Configuration.Database Settings, just to see what will happen. The blog ceased to work.
Actually, the $serendipity['dbPrefix'] in serendipity_config_local.inc.php has changed, but all the tables in the database remained with the original prefix in the names.

I think that either the renaming table name should proceed or this option should not be available after installing the blog.

The config option is mainly there that if you manually rename tables you can adjust the setting.

I agree that a note would be helpful to tell people that the option is there to indicate what the prefix IS and not what it SHOULD BECOME.
