Using WYSIWYG Editor - Un-formats my HTML code on blog page.

I enabled my WYSIWYG Editor in Personal Settings. Then I clicked the "Image" button and added a .JPG image that I had uploaded onto my server (/serendipity/uploads). This worked perfectly, but when I checked the body of my blog page, it had lost its formatting and the text all ran together. I worked around this by disabling the WYSIWYG Editor and then going back through the page and adding the carriage returns that had been lost while the editor was running. Any ideas about what I'm doing? Thank you!
