Hi - thanks for nice tool.
I create a new user. I see they are members of group administrator/cheif and std editor. I don;t want this.
I go to manage groups. I edit adminitstrator group - that new user is listed - and I cannot find a way to remove them or add them to any other group.
Help?
thanks kindly

Forgot to say
1) i am very new at this!
2) I did this as a shared install using links
Original is unpacked into <install_s9y>
I did have to add 2 more links than the doc suggested (i am not using virtual hosts ) I simply install each user in <base_url>/blogs/username
For each username directory i also linked
<install_s9y>/include
<install_s9y>
without which there were complaints of missing files.
With this setup the install ran successfully for each user. After this I had problems with group memberships as above.
Thanks again.

You can solve the membership problem easily; there is a multiple select field where all authors are listed. You can add/remove users from that list by using your Ctrl-key on the keyboard and left clicking with the mouse on an item.
Multi-selects are part of the HTML standard, and usually all browsers handle this the same. There are many pages and systems out there using that input control.

I've got the same problem
Any time I add a new user, all possible groups are in the "group membership" field. I can use Ctrl-click or Shift-click to select multiple groups in the field, but there is no way to remove those groups from the field. I tried the delete key and everything else I could think of.
Your earlier answer works for selecting the groups, but not for removing them from or adding them to the field.
How is this done?
Thanks.
UPDATE: Never mind. I figured it out. Highlight the ones you want and then save and the user will only be added to those groups. Duh!
