Still slogging through the install.
Keep receving the prompt, "The mySQL error was: Incorrect database name..."
Altered the name of directory from "serendipity" to "blog".
I've tried "serendipity", "db", "blog", "serendipity", "db", "db.sql", and "blog/sql/db.sql".
None worked
Does the s9y database have a secret name -- like cats?
Thanks,
Best,
Mark
Name that database!
Hmm, you should've replied to your original thread to keep down the
confusion.
Anyway, don't you have a database created already? I mean,
just installing the MySQL won't give you a database... but rather, you need
to create a database first. Then s9y will use the database to create some
tables for its use. s9y wants you to specify that database. If you haven't
previously created a database to the name of 'serendipity' or 'blog' or
some such, the error you received is perfectly natural, since, well, the
database doesn't exist and the name is invalid. By the way, the naming is
entirely up to you.

Did it, Wesley.
And it works very well. Thanks so much!
