Spam Prevention: Invalid message.

I have a serendipity blog on a hosted server that has been giving me some problems with comments. Sometimes, but not always, when people try to post comments they get this message
Spam Prevention: Invalid message.
It then tells then that comments for this entry have been disabled. I have checked and checked again and I'm positive that I have comments enabled. Any thoughts on what I might need to tweak to get this working. You can view the problem yourself at

Thanks for any tips you can provide.

i get the same complaint too
even though it says it prevents them the comment is still entered the database. so it does show up
I think it prevents them from posting 2 comments rapidly one after another.

That message can happen if a comment is set to auto-moderation. The spamblock plugin has some means that return generic "Invalid message" strings so that spammers cannot detect why their content was blocked.
Those are:
1. Rapid posting of the same IP (if enabled in config) within a given timeframe
2. Posting of a comment which the same content that already exists
3. Filtered author names, filtered URLs
So you can influence all three of them via the spamblock config.

i know this an old post, but i'm wondering if it's possible to disable the spam prevention plugin. there's a way to delete it but if i do that will i be able to re-install it? if not, can i just disable it for a while? it's truly annoying for me, as the author, to not be able to respond to several posts in a row. i've tried changing the "ip block interval" to every 0 minutes but that hasn't helped.
any ideas?
thanks.

Sure, you can disable the spam prevention plugin by going to your s9y Admin suite, go to plugin configuration and check the plugin. Then click on "Delete".
You can re-install it later anytime you like.
If you disabled your IP-Block interval, it might be something other that interferes for you. Did you enable the spamblock logging, and looked at the logfile table or logfile file?
