Hi all,
What does members only and myself only in manage sidebar visibility mean??Though I save it as myself only the change is being effected for all the users. Can we use it for serendipity 0.8 or is it meant only for serendipity 0.9 onwards???
Also, I did not understand what Rebuild thumbs does........I am getting a list of warnings whenever I click on it except for the recent pictures that I add in the media library. What actually is the use of this rebuild thumbs?
plz help..

Hi!
What does members only and myself only in manage sidebar visibility mean??
If set to "members only" then the sidebar will only be displayed if you are logged in as a s9y author.

If set to "myself only" then the sidebar will only be displayed if you are logged in as a s9y author and you are the OWNER of the plugin.

The plugin says this on its management page:

Code: Select all

Also the viewing permission system only works with Serendipity 0.9. Be warned.
This should speak for itself. :-)

Rebuild thumbs is there to let Serendipity take a look at your uploads directory and compare it with the files listed in the database.

S9y will delete all database entries to files which no longer exists.
S9y will add all files which are not found in the DB yet and create thumbnails for those files.
S9y will see if you changed the size of your thumbnail images in the s9y configuration, and if yes, resize the thumbnails to match this new size.

You can get errors if write/read permissions are not properly set on the uploads directory and all contained images, or if certain images are corrupted and cannot be read.

Garvin
