Sorry for asking such a stupid quastion, but I am a noob and don't know much about php.

I installed the link-list plugin via spartacus. That worked fine.

But I can't add any links. I have seen on a screenshot that there should be a "links manager" at the entries menu in the administration level. But there is no links manager.

Can anybody help me. please?

Okay, I have the "manage links" menu now. But somehow the added links don't appear on my blog sidebar.

Do the links appear in the manage links menu when they are added?

Can you run through the settings for me? Specifically:

I assume "Enter XML directly" is set to no.

What is "Order links by" set to?

Which Category system are you using?

Is caching enabled?

Are you using dtree output?

You also might try setting "Enter XML directly" back to yes and see if it dumps the links into the XML textbox.

Yes, they appear in the manage links menu.

You're right.
What is "Order links by" set to?
Custom.
Which Category system are you using?
I use the default categroy system.
Is caching enabled?
It is enabled. But if I disable it there is no difference.
Are you using dtree output?
There isn't displayed anything dtree-like...
You also might try setting "Enter XML directly" back to yes and see if it dumps the links into the XML textbox.
I already tried that but the result was the same: no links are displayed.

Thank you very much for your help in advance.

If you do not have an option for "Use "dtree" styling" (second option from the bottom on the config) it is not the most recent version of the plugin. Can you update the plugin?

Are you saying no links appeared in the textbox under the configuration or no links appeared on your main page?

I want to know if the xml appeared in the textbox under the configuration... and what the xml looked like if it did appear

Also, a url to look at would be helpful if it is available...

I'm glad the update worked!

Just to let you know, you may want to move the empty.gif image into the
"templates/default/img/" folder to prevent the broken image showing up in IE...

Or you could turn on "Use plugin image directory" (as long as you aren't using shared hosting)

Let me know if you have any other problems!

I did not understand what you are meaning with the broken images until I saw my site in the IE today.

Where can I find the empty.gif? Or do I have to create it on my own?

Thank you for your help!!!

Okay, I fixed it. Just created the gif-file and uploaded it.

Nevertheless I have to thank you again for your great help!

Maybe you can tell me how to integrate a counter into the sidebar. As you probably recognized I have no clue about using php ;-)

Sorry, I don't know of any counters that would work well in the sidebar...

I assume you could use something like http://www.rapidcounter.com/ in a text nugget in the sidebar....

But I don't know anything about rapidcounter... there is probably a better service out there...
