I intend to set up my own Onion service that will primarily contain an s9y blog, and I was wondering if there's any known precedent of someone doing this and if so, if there were any unique security/anonymity concerns (e.g. IP leaks) in doing so, how they were dealt with, etc.
Thank you for this project! It looks really cool, and I hope it suits my needs!

I hope it works for you! I'm not aware of anyone trying this. You basically need to run Apache to use Serendipity, but I assume the onion service abstraction is one level below and shouldn't matter.

Apache only. It relies on .htaccess at for file access control and url rewrite.

I didn't really care about any leaks so far, because the site is just a mirror of my clearweb site.
