Plugin installation problems

Post by Chris »

Hi everyone,

I installed the My Calendar event plugin just fine via Spartacus. However, when I went to install the My Calendar sidebar plugin via Spartacus, I get the follow error message along these lines :
There were some other messages but I wasn't to capture it in time. But something's "not right" to put it mildly. When I go to the configure plugin screen, it now has a huge dump of the CVS page for the My Calendar plugin :
cvs: php-blog/additional_plugins/serendipity_event_mycalendar/serendipity_plugin_mycalendar.php
The problem is that none of the links work. For example, when I click on the download link against v1.7 of the plugin, I get the following :
Not Found
The requested URL /viewcvs.py/*checkout*/php-blog/additional_plugins/serendipity_event_mycalendar/serendipity_plugin_mycalendar.php was not found on this server.
The interesting thing is that I notice that it's trying to hit a path on my server :
The short story is - HELP ! :) I've no idea how to fix this. I'm running 0.8. Any advice is appreciated. My plugin screen is now totally unusable.

Hi Chris!

Which 0.8 serendipity are you running? Could you upgrade to 0.8.3, because spartacus got some updates there.

The URL to be used should definitely be the one with "http://cvs.sourceforge.net/..." in front. Can you post a screenshot of your admin panel?

It also seems that the plugin file hasn't gotten downloaded correctly; can you look into your plugins/serendipity_event_mycalendar/* files and paste them here?

Regards

Hi Garvin,

Thank you as always for your speedy response. I've just made matters worse for myself ! To cut a long story short, I've accidentally deleted my entire blog directory ! :(

The good news is that the database is intact and I've just managed to re-install using 0.8.3 and pointed it back to the existing tables, so all my entries as back. WHEW !!

I am also pleased to say that the My Calendar plugin (event / sidebar) works perfectly with 0.8.3.
