Installing Serendipity as backend

Hi,

We have an existing website, based on smarty. We are now looking for a backend CMS system to be able to edit a few of the pages/templates. Can we use Serendipity for this (as I think it is also smarty)?

Thanks for your kind suggestions.

Hi!

No, you can't. Serendipity uses Smarty templates to present its own data; you cannot use it to edit existing Smarty-frameworked pages, that is like wanting to use apples to make orange juice, just because they both are fruits. ;)

For what you want, you need to build your own framework or switch to a CMS...
