I use Joomla for my website and s9y for the blog http://blog.m-box.at. The blog entries are (supposed to be) automatically injected via RSS2 into the Joomla website. A few weeks ago, however, this stopped working. One old blog post from Dec 1st is still showing up, later ones aren't.

To isolate the source of the problem I checked with Firefox 8 and MSIE 9 - without Joomla involved, just subscribing to the feed - whether the feeds work at all. In MSIE all posts show up, in Firefox only the one from Dec 1st. Displaying my Joomla-based website in MSIE also only displays the Dec1st blog post.

I upgraded (after the problem appeared) to s9y 1.6. Checking the RSS feed at http://validator.w3.org/feed/ returns 'valid RSS feed'.

Any hints what this could be?

Hi!

In the config of s9y you can enable an option that violates a RFC, but which allows for conditional RSS fetching, so that only the entries are fetched which are new since the latest call.

Seems like an update in joomly might have changed the behaviour so that new entries are not fetched.

You have two options to deal with that - first is subscribe to rss.php?nocache=true as your RSS feed that should circumvent this. The second is to enable the strict RFC compliance in the s9y configuration.

Thanks! Activating strict RFC2616 RSS-Feed compliance did the trick.

To my knowledge no update to the Joomla installation took place. It's also interesting that Firefox behaves that way. Although, Firefox gets updated quite frequently.
