hi there,

i would like to know how to upgrade my blog from 0.8 to 0.8.1. i've try to extract the new tar.gz file to my directory. it come out with the fresh installation page.

anyone there can help me?

If you get a fresh installation page you overwrote your "serendipity_config_local.inc.php" file. This file is created after install and needs to be existant when you copy 0.8.1 files over; basically you did it right
