Hey guys,

after many years of operating my blog successfully I decided it was time to spruce things up. Look for some "share" "like" etc. features to install and realized how terribly out of date my version is.

I am currently running Serendipity 1.1 und PHP 5.2.17 (German version)

I would like to update to the newest version but the search does not give me any info on how to go about this the best way? Any help is greatly appreciated

I am really scared of messing up my content / site and losing my works. I got severly I'll a while bag and now that am recovered and returning to my blog feel a bit helpless in this endevor of "updating"

Many greetings,

Ina

Updating is easy.
Just make a backup copy of your template, maybe also from the database, then copy new Serendipity over old serendipity. If your are done, open your webbrowser pointing to your blog and follow instructions.

If its all done, you may have to press F5 sometimes, to get/run non cached files.

Then you have to look for the Spartacus plugin, maybe staticpages, findmore, etc.

You should follow the links (event and sidebar plugins) to procced with updates for your old plugins, as soon as installed spartacus. Then you will better do some work with a "modern" template like bulletproof, which is the default template in 1.5.x versions, I expect. But your old one should do also the first time....

So do I upgrade 1.1.1, then 1.1.2 or can I move right on to the latest version? Thanks so much for your input.
