Security alerts?

Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way to get alerted to security updates? I signed up for the dev mailing list, should that do the trick?

I definitely considered it. I'm just not in the habit of checking RSS with any regularity so I'd probably miss it. Maybe Google Reader has some sort of "alert" feature...

How about using the dashboard with its notifier on top of adminstration screen (additional with serendipity_event_autoupdate)?
