Coppermine Gallery with Serendipity ?

Howdy ! I spotted the thread about intergrating a gallery module into Serendipity and tried it for Coppermine as my web host won't allow Gallery to run on my server.

I've followed the instructions detailed here:

http://www.s9y.org/forums/viewtopic.php ... ht=gallery

but it doesn't work. All I get is the gallery page without the Serendipity wrapper around it.

Any ideas as to what I've done wrong ?

TIA

Phil

What's wrong with Serendipity and Coppermine

I believe I am getting the same result. I followed the notes and when I go to my coppermine page I see the all the photos and stuff, but no Serendipity around it. No errors or anything, just no Serendipity. Is there something else I should be doing?

Same thing

I guess the reason for it not working is what Garvin mentioned a while back.
garvinhicking wrote:If nothing happens it seems that your Apache Server does not support the php_value auto_append_file option...I did not put enough effort into looking for alternative ways to emulate such behaviour with hacking init.php or whatever. Gallery does not support a 'file which is loaded at the end' portion, so it is hard to achieve without the .htaccess mechanism.

Garvin
However, I'm wondering if there is a way to do it without using the option. I'm on a shared web hosting http://www.godaddy.com and I have no way of setting this variable. Is there a chance I could use another type of plugin or different photo album software backend? I really would like to use the Serendipity wrapper. All I really want is a simple photo gallery with slide shows and albums.

Work around

You know, I ran across the plugin written by RobA called wrapURL that seemed to combat the problem I had. I just setup coppermine and serendipity separately and used his plugin to call the index of coppermine. It's awkward, but it works! I need to work on the style sheet of coppermine to more closely match the serendipity, but that's icing on the cake. Take a look at my site and you'll see what I mean. http://www.socalwizard.com Now Rob, all you need to do is make it a little more customizable width and height. 8) Also I can't seem to adjust the background color of the frame. But Rob, your plugin works great! Now, if I can fix my static page problem, life would be good (for now). :)
