If I change the DocumentRoot to this:
DocumentRoot "/var/www/html/blog1

it won't load up?
> apachectl -k start
nothing happens when I change the path to /blog1
I have to go back to
DocumentRoot "/var/www/html"
to get httpd to load up.

I'm confused by this.. suggestions?

Hi!

When you change the document root you might need to change your .htaccess and serendipity path configuration as well, of course. You might want to lookup the apache documentation about what the DocumentRoot actually does...

.htaccess hasn't been implemented

and I don't get what you mean by serendipity path configuration.

In the past I simply setup httpd.conf with the documentroot path

I have one option left to me before I start with a fresh copy of s9y
to setup a Virtual Host for blog1, which eventually will be necessary,because I run more than one website. This way I leave the default DocumentRoot path as is


Resolved this problem now on to the next. I reinstalled s9y and for what ever reason that took care of the problem apache had loading. Now on to the next step where I call with > http://blog.biz/index.php and it times out.. why why why
