User self registration not working

Hi Garvin, we have sorted out the permissions issue to get Serendipity blog going on our website: http://www.nationatrail.com.au but we have run into a problem with the user self-registration plugin. The registration is allowed but is sending an error message and the login doesn't work. I have hunted through the forums for an answer, but the advice is too technical for me to apply. Can you help? There is also a problem loading an appearance style template. Thanks.

The account could not be enabled. Maybe you copied the wrong URL from your activation email?

Hi!

The URL you mention does not work for me - I get a Server Not Found?!

Which version of the adduser-plugin are you using?

Regards,
Garvin

Sorry Garvin, the URL is www.nationaltrail.com.au, typo in previous post.

Hi Garvin, the adduser plugin I am using is the one already in Serendipity Lite.

Serendipity Lite does not have this plugin! Please look up the version number on your plugin listing page.

Your site shows serendiity within an iframe but has the embed option turned on. Thus the important HTML headers and footers are not there. You must either properly embed the page with PHP code (which is for experienced users only) or you should turn off embedding, continue using the iframe, and make the layout changes directly to the HTML templates in the serendipity templates/ folder.

Old versions of the adduser plugin do not properly store the authors, so you need to make sure that you are running the most recent version. You can get that where you got the first version of the plugin, either through the spartacus plugin management, or through manual download on http://spartacus.s9y.org/.

HTH,
Garvin

Hi Garvin, well I thought I had Lite, but there are definitely options for User self-registration in the sidebar plugins (version 1.13) and in the event plugins (version 2.21). Maybe I picked the wrong one?
Thnx! Roger

Hi!

In that case you must upgrade the plugins (i.e. by downloading from spartacus.s9y.org and extract in your plugin directory). Event recent is 2.34 and sidebar is also 2.34.
