A question about User Profiles

Before I upgraded the other day, I was successful in creating another field in the profiles (and I was very proud of myself :P) . . . basically I substituted an existing word for a new one (in the lang_en.inc.php + serendipity_event_userprofiles.php + plugin_userprofile.tpl) and it seemed to work just fine . . . I am 99% sure that's all I did.

Then I tried to make another one by cut and pasting and trying to just make some more (yes I don't really know what I am doing and it's all trial and error for me at this stage!) and that didn't work :? . . so I left it alone till now.

Now comes my problem/question. I reinstalled/updated the plugin to start over and . . .

I have just tried to add another field using the above method and instead of seeing just the words "Red Bubble" I see "PLUGIN_EVENT_USERPROFILES_REDBUBBLE" instead. Both in the admin section of the user profiles and in the blog when you click on a user name.

So is what I am doing anywhere near right?? Was I actually just dreaming that it worked last week and this is not possible? Am I missing something somewhere? I have checked what I have done a thousand times so I am sure that this little bit of it is right, I just must be missing something!

Thanks in advance!!

Hi!

Yes, changing that file usually is all you need. You need to show us what exactly you modified, then we can tell what's missing. :)

Garvin

Thanks again!
