when setting up an shared install.

isnt this folder created on its own?

I think this may be the reason all my gif's are blank with red x's through them [in internet explorer, not netscape browser]]??

im confused,

Please

templates_c is not automatically created, no. You need to take care of it in your shared install setup script.

However this should not be the cause of missing images. That is more a problem that your templates/ folder does not seem properly copied/linked.
