Can we bring the ability that entries have to grant/restrict access to static pages?

Hi!
That would be great. Permission management is on the Staticpage 2.0 wishlist for quite some time already

Garvin

And, boy, would that be useful. There is kind of a workaround using the deprecated user levels for write permission, but it's not really a solution.

Umm... I wasn't offering to do it. I was requesting it.
Actually, I just realized that entries themselves cannot be assigned read permissions... they can be assigned to categories which themselves have read permissions.
Wouldn't it be cool if permissions could be assigned independently to entry body and extended body? What I mean is something like the entry body being readable by anyone, but getting a prompt like "Please login to continue reading blah blah" for the extended body. Anyone want to code that?

Dude, you got it wrong.
First get someone who can actually code to do it,
then add additional features as you go

I am hoping Garvin will step in and take care of this.

Hi!
I'm sorry, maintaining the staticpage plugin is not on my personal todolist. It's too much work, and too much part of a CMS rather than the part that I personally enjoy coding.

Garvin

C'mon Garvin - YOU are the one who provided custom static page properties (fields) and a customizable static page template!!! This has been on the list forever... how about you just take it on and get it done?! I'll buy you a couple of beers if you do!!

Hi!
If someone wants to sponsor me, I'd go for it. Might take about 3 to 4 days, my commercial implementation cost for that would be 1920 Euros...
Seriosuly: I have no fun at that, since I think that a CMS is meant for this and a break-point for when I'd not use a blog system, if I needed that permission functionality.
I wouldn't do it for fun.

Garvin

1920 Euros?

If I had it to spare, I would happily give it to you.... but I do not. I have some tile work to do, remember?
I had no idea that it required several days of effort... I thought it was just a simple matter of porting it to static pages from elsewhere.

Hi!
No, it's not only porting. Static pages are completely distinct frmo blog entries, so you can't copy the code, you actually have to reinvent the wheel for that.... (at least that's what I think, please anyone prove me wrong)

Garvin
