I am Chinese and I use gb2312 as charset of my blog.It seems that Serendipity does not provide options for blog owner to speicify charset other than iso-8859-1.I have to change the code in the index.php and serveral admin pages.Some texts are processed by the htmlentities() before being output.The function also use iso-8859-1 as its default charset.

How about adding the charset setting as an option of administratorion?
