Just tried to install Serendipity and ran into some problems hope you can help?

1. magic_quotes_gpc set to ON on my server/host it this OK?
2. allow_url_fopen set to OFF on my server/host it this OK?
3. Had no archives folder so I created one is this OK?

Am trying to install the latest version v1.4.1 thanks for the replys.

Hi!

1. This is okay, but performance-wise if it were set to OFF, it would be a little bit quicker. But s9y can deal with that.

2. Yes, but this means that certain plugins might not be able to access data from foreign servers (like Twitter API etc.)

3. This is also okay, s9y would have created the folder automatically (if it has permission) though. It's a virtual directory, so all is well.
