Style change problem after upgrading s9y

I forgot to execute a chmod sometime during the upgrade, and the 'change styles' action isn't working anymore! I recall seeing and error message about some file called layout** not being writable.
Anyway, I can't chang the style, but everything else works great. For another blog that I upgraded the upgrade process went successfully and I am able to change the 'style' in that other blog.
Another thing that's bugging me is that I have a LOT more files in the upgrade that failed me. I think the deprecated files have not been deleted.

PS: Since I've migrated (well, mostly) to 0.8, I'll finish up the Korean translation.
-- edit: I've just noticed: Is the admin page supposed to use the default style in all cases?
