Removing theme + using image in banner

I just started using Serendipity today and using all the admin functions. It's an installation at Go Daddy.

At one point I was in a menu that gave me the option to choose a layout (# of columns, banner image, etc). Later in my activities I ended up choosing a style, and now I cannot figure out how to get to the original options for layout. When I go to Appearance > Manage Styles I just see other theme options. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the help!

Kind of :) The menu you're referring to are the so-called "theme options", a rather new concept in s9y templates. Most of the newer template use it these days, but a lot of older templates (or styles) don't. So you have probably switched to a template which does not offer any theme options.

The template you're referring to (the one with the layout options) is probably Bulletproof, the s9y default template. BP was the first template to make heavy use of the theme options, allowing users to configure, well, almost anything. Don't expect to find the same number of options in other templates, though.

YL,

Thanks for the background, appreciate it. I will see if I can get back to the Bulletproof default template. Or I can learn to love one of the other themes.

Make no mistake - it is possible to do that in other themes as well, even the ones not using the theme options. It's just a little but harder :) (But you should find plenty of threads in this forum from the pre-BP days.)
