when copying files from one folder to another for shared install, it will not work if i put the $ symbol 1st.

i am using putty to connect via ssh.

should i even worry about this?

just curious?

The $ symbol in the documentation only indicates the SSH prompt. Do not use that $ symbol in actual writing.
