Hi.
I'm currently using statcounter.com for my website stats, but I'm not all that happy with it.
My question to you is 1. What are people here using to track stats of their sites, and 2. Would it be possible to integrate a stat system into serendipity itself?

Hi,

I'm using http://www.nedstatbasic.net/. If you would like to see in action, you can have a look at mine on http://www.fosenbauer.com/blog. It's in the right margin, afer the "No Patents" banner.

Positive points for this counter :
- lists 10 last visitors (providers)
- lists countries of origine of your visitors
- lists the incoming links or search engines & the relevant key words
- lots of other features

Negative point : it's a very important point ! S9Y loads every time that you click on a subject or every time that you leave a comment or take a look in another category. This counter doesn't coun't the visitors by their IP, but counts every page reload.
This means that you can have 15 real visitors, but that your counter will show 45 visits...

Oh, and a good point : it's free and easy to implement in a HTML nugget.
If you find something better, i'd like to know about it ! =)

The statistics plugin of Serendipity, together with the karma plugin about tracks everything that is possible to track within Serendipity and makes sense.

If that doesn'T suffice for you, I suggest modlogan, awstats or phpOpenTracker. For the latter there's even a s9y plugin.
