Podcasting - multiple podcasts one site and more questions

Hello all,

I just installed serendipity and am taking a long look at it for use on multiple sites. So far I really like the layout and admin functions compared to Wordpress, but there is on thing I'm trying to find out. Is it possible to have more then one podcast on a site? I'm putting together a site where there will be roughly 4 to 5 of us in one group podcast, but it may spin off into another 2 to 4. I'm really hoping that this feature is possible and if it's not does anyone know software that makes it possible. For now I'm digging into having a multiple contributor setup, remote blogging etc. Oh yea, can each user have their own blog page and is there a plugin where I can have a list of multiple users that can post through email (phone)? Thank you for you input in advance.

Hi!

Actually, yes, there is a way. For this you can use the "Custom entryproperties" feature. Install the eventplugion "Extended options/properties for entries", which will give you additional input fields for each entry you create. You could add fields like "Podcast1,Podcast2,Podcast3,..." in the configuration of that plugin so that you have as many input boxes for as many podcasts you'll like to embed into a single article. Then you simply enter the same list of "Podcast1,Podcast2,Podcast3,..." inside the podcast plugin in the config option "Podcasting using extended article attributes".
remote blogging etc. Oh yea, can each user have their own blog page and is there a plugin where I can have a list of multiple users that can post through email (phone)? Thank you for you input in advance.
Serendipity supports unlimited authors on a shared blog. Each author then has his own sub-page on that central blog, but this is then like a category-view; each author does not have his own distinct blog.

There is the popfetcher event plugin that allows you to blog via email, and there are xmlrpc clients for remote posting. Not all remote possibilities support extended options for entries, so you'll have to re-edit an entry to add a podcast to it through the usual s9y backend.

Garvin

Garvin,

Thank you for the insight, I greatly appreciate it and I will probably be hanging out here a while learning the ins and outs.
