Comment Moderation & Notification Problem

I'm having trouble getting the comment moderation to work as well as be notified when a comment is left. I am using version 1.4.
I have "Send comment announcements" set to Yes. I have a personal email address set that works.
On the entry I have "Allow comments to this entry" checked and "Comments & trackbacks to this entry requires moderation" checked.
In the Spam Protector plug-in I have "Force comment moderation after how many days" set to 1. I have "Check email addresses" set to Confirm always.
When I leave a test comment to an entry it sends an email to the commenter's email address with a confirmation link. However, the entry author/admin does not receive an email either for moderation or for notification. As soon as the confirmation link is clicked the comment gets posted with no moderation.
I can't see anything else that could possibly be set. I've tried various combinations over the last couple of days.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

maybe you are logged in with your admin-account?

No, not logged in.
I meant to also include with my first post that when entering a comment it says at the bottom in red "Submitted comments will be subject to moderation before being displayed."
Then after submitting is says "Warning: This comment needs approval before it will be displayed."

Hi!
When you leave the test comment, what kind of email gets send to the commentor with a confirmation link? The only mail that he could get would be a Double Opt In confirmation mail if he has checked the option "Subscribe to comments".
In your global s9y configuration, check your options "Use Double-Opt In for comment subscriptions?" and "Use Tokens for Comment Moderation"?

When doing the test comment I don't check the "Subscribe to comments" option. In Spam Protector I have the option "Check e-mail addresses?" set to "Confirm Always" so that is what generates the confirmation email, I assume.

I had the "Double-Opt In" option set to Yes. I just set the "Use Tokens" option to Yes.
I did another test comment and had the same results as previously reported. I think I'll just turn off the Moderation options and not worry about it. I'm sure between the captcha and confirmation email there shouldn't be any spam.
It would be nice to be notified if anyone does ever leave a comment.

It seems to me the email function must be working as it should since it is sending the email to the commenter. I can't understand why the notification email doesn't work.
Does it make any difference that the administrator (me) and the author (me) are the same and using the same login name?
Also I'm wondering if it makes any difference that I have my domain set up to redirect to my s9y directory. When my main domain, n5na.net, is entered into the browser it is redirected to n5na.net/s9y/ .

Hi!
Okay, then definitely your "checkalways" option in the pluginis the cuplrit. I'll look into why it doesn't create a notificationmail for you. When you turn the confirmationoff, themoderation should work...

Thanks! That was definitely the problem. Once I turned off the "Confirm Always" everything worked as it should.
Moderation emails come through now if moderation is on and notification emails come if moderation is off.
