please could you tell me, if there is any plugin out there, that makes it possible to write private messages from one user to another ?

....or any alternatives ?

Hi!

There's no IM/messaging plugin built for serendipity right now. Only a plugin to allow you to communicate publically to complete author groups as "post it notes" to the backend screen.

For private IM, use E-Mail - that's what it's for
