Hi,

The install went fine. It worked for a couple of days and then this morning I get this message when I visit the site:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Lost connection to MySQL server at 'reading initial communication packet', system error: 61 in /usr/www/users/acimino/on-being/include/db/mysql.inc.php on line 270

Warning: mysql_select_db() [function.mysql-select-db]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2) in /usr/www/users/acimino/on-being/include/db/mysql.inc.php on line 271

Warning: mysql_select_db() [function.mysql-select-db]: A link to the server could not be established in /usr/www/users/acimino/on-being/include/db/mysql.inc.php on line 271

Warning: mysql_query(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /usr/www/users/acimino/on-being/include/db/mysql.inc.php on line 281

Warning: mysql_query(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /usr/www/users/acimino/on-being/include/db/mysql.inc.php on line 281
serendipity error: unable to connect to database - exiting.

Any ideas?

I did not change any settings.

Cheers,
Anthony

Hi!

please talk to your server/database administrator, this is a server issue, not caused by serendipity.
