Was experimenting with a plug in (which when fails you can usually delete), and this error arose.
How do I go about repairing the problem since it not only appears in the admin area but is spread across the blog as well.

Either you fix the error by installing the PEAR HTML::TreeMenu Package, or you use phpMyAdmin to access your serendipity_plugins table and delete the categories_dhtml plugin from there.
