Static start page

I'm not sure if I get this right: If I want a static page as the start page, I have to set that option for the static page right when I create it from scratch, right? I can not create a static page and switch it to be the start page later, correct? ('cause that's what I just experience with a project.)

If this is correct, we should really point that out more clearly, either in the docs for the static pages plugin or in the static page creation page itself. It's not obvious or intuitive the way it is now.

Hi!

You can change it at any time you want. Just be sure to never have more than one static startpage.

Erm ... any idea why that did not work in that particular blog then?

I'm not a 100% sure, and I can't check it right away, but I don't think there was more than a single static start page, yet it still didn't work until I create a new static page from scratch and declared it the start page right away.

There were two things I could imagine to have been factors, though. First, the blog did have a sticky entry then (in draft status, but still sticky). Second, the static page which didn't work as a start page initially had the status "Static page with related category".

Any idea why this didn't work?
