Using Serendipity 0.8-beta5 and PHP 5.0.4 (but also happened when using PHP 5.0.3).

I got Serendipity yesterday, and all but one thing works.
The comments get saved, when reading the articles it shows the little link with how many comments there are, but when clicking that link it takes me to the part to post a comment, where it also states that there are no comments.
When in administration I can see the comments, I can edit them, but they don't get posted.

I tried all three url rewrites, but my server only supports no rewrite (the others result in 404's), the thing happens regardless what template used, and I've done a clean re-install of serendipity four times over the last night.

When posting a comment, the field "in reply to" only shows "top level" as an option, there are no other options in the list.
My latest set-up is a clean one, no extra sidebar or event plug-ins used.
(I might put one or two in for some more playing with the blog, though)

Running on a Windows server, using the SQLite-setup (SQLite bundled with PHP5) because php and mysql no longer got along...
I tried installing postgresql last night to see if that would make a difference, but can't get that installed as a service and it just won't run on my machine when trying to start it manually.
Server-software used is Abyss X1 version 2.0.0.2

Things so far attempted to find a fix:
- Used different templates.
- switch url rewrite options.
- remove .htaccess.
- delete and re-install trying to switch several configuration options.
- play around with categories to see if perhaps that made a difference for the "in reply to"-thing.
- hit computer with blunt objects :p
- search these forums and google, these forums seemed the most likely place to find a possible fix.

Do you have a public URL to your blog? I'd like to see that, because that's an error I've never heard.

Are you using a custom template? If yes, which one?

Can you post a DB SQL dump of your serendipity_comments table?

Regards,
Garvin

Public url to the Blog:
http://cybersexx.no-ip.com
If needed I can also give out the administrative information (username, password).
Not using any custom templates, just the ones that came with the package, and it happens with all templates.
Since my previous post I set the blog up with the template dropdown sidebar mod, the online repository events mod (Spartacus, if I remember correctly), and the captcha (and some other spam settings) were modified for another test.
Took the database dump before the captcha was disabled and some spam settings were altered - I copied the DB to another machine for backup-purpose, and copied the dump from that machine.
(for lack of an appropriate tool on the machine I copied the DB to, opened with DreamWeaver and copied from there)

For it is mine, all mine... because I called dibs on it.
And you didn't.
Therefor, it is mine, and can not be yours.
So say I, Big_Bad_Wolf, for I am Big_Bad_Wolf, who came up with the word and therefor I called dibs on it.

And I call dibs on it because it is mine to call dibs on.
Not yours, but mine....
So you can not have it, you can not claim it, because it is mine.
If you want it, you can't have it, since it is mine.
All mine... not yours.
My word, all mine, so you can't have it.
And now it should be perfectly clear that it is mine, not yours, because I claimed it first when I made it up and called dibs on it.

Now that we established that this word is mine, I see no need to further explore this avenue of conversation, therefor I shall move on.

Let's see... I covered Mojo Jojo - no, not litterally, you sick little fucks! - so now I oughtta cover the Powerpuffs...

Tell me this doesn't make your blood flow...
Tell me it ain't putting the lotion in the basket...
Tell me that you're an idiot!!!

heh...

Anyways, click the thumbnail to get to a bigger version.
I haven't got a clue what else to write, my brain is fried from the bughunt.</div></div>1Wolf1falsetrue0falseof the images used in this article, I just grabbed them from the internet.
Now shut yer hole and let me fix my dinner.1Wolf1falsetrue1112635820false>
Or would he try and slap a smooth monkey smoothie on them?
Or... would the girls, now somewhat older and possibly bitchier, switch sides and join forces with Mojo?
Would Robin be in time to warn Batman of the Joker's evil plot to... eh... oh...
Never mind, wrong characters.
But why, WHY... did that suddenly make me think of Catwoman, Harley Quin and Supergirl taking on these redone Powerpuffs?
Do I care for a reason?
Do I need a reason?
Do I want a reason?
Do I keep typing "Do I..." things, with these thoughts going through my mind?
Do you want to know?
Do you care?
Do you want to care?
Who gives a crap...
All we need to know is that such a battle would probably rate high in some hentai/anime game that would involve lesbian domination.
Hmmmm... that brings up another question...
Just WHAT was that professor thinking of, when he made them three girls?
We all know he claims it was an accident, an experiment ending up with the creation of the girls as an unexpected side-effect... but we all ?also know that them secret scientist guys never do anything by accident.
NEVER....
The inventor of the steam engine was not trying to make caramel fudge when he discovered the steam engine.
Einstein was not trying to bake a cake when he came up with E=MC².
Doctor Von Doom was not trying to fix the remote to his Korean-built TV when he ended up getting that funky mask.
Further supporting my suspiscions of a global conspiracy involving the Power Puff Girls, world domination by the professor and other funky stuff is a name.
Yes, a simple name....
BUBBLES!
Mojo Jojo, Über-Arch-Villain Über-Extreme, became who he was because of the same experiment that created the Power Puffs.
Bubbles is one of the Power Puffs.
Mojo is a monkey.
Bubbles is a monkey kept by Michael Jackson.
Michael Jackson is evil, he is trying to dominate the world.
Michael Jackson must be kicked in the nutsack repeatedly, then locked away for life.
The evil plot thickens.
Another Michael is the arch-angel.
Arch-angel, Arch-vilBlain... see the connection?
Then there's Michael J Fox, Mikhail Ghorbachov, Michael Jordan (Air Jordan, Angels fly through the air, need I say more?), Shawn Michaels, and some bald guy named Ron Coleman.
<div class="serendipity_imageComment_right" style="width: 200px"><div class="serendipity_imageComment_img"><img width='200' height='194' border='0' hspace='5' align='right' src='/sblog/uploads/Ron-Coleman.jpg' alt='Bald Bodybuilder Ron Coleman' /></div><div class="serendipity_imageComment_txt">Ron Coleman, bodybuilder.
And somehow part of a plot to hide some top-secret conspiracy that evolves around world domination.
World domination and the many uses of butter...
Think you can kick my ass, Ron?
Huh?
Can you?
I didn't think so!</div></div>
I rest my case.
We have now established, through my highly advanced logic, that the Power Puffs are really a secret super soldier project, sent to gain world domination by controlling anime/hentai games that have a topic of lesbian domination.
You are wrong, 0 Jojo the coolest arch villain ever!' /></div><div class="serendipity_imageComment_txt">Mojo Jojo, coolest über-evil arch-villain with an über-brain.

As you can see, Mojo Jojo is one of the grandest, most über-ish beings around.
In fact, even my big manly cojones would consider bowing down to his über-ness.
Yes, Über-ness... Über-ness (®© 2005 - Big_Bad_Wolf) is another word that I just called dibs on.
You can read it, you can bask in it's Über-ness (®© 2005 - Big_Bad_Wol@mble, go with the flow, write on the fly...
Speaking of fly, isn't that what they said of Michael Jackson?
"pretty fly for a white guy"?
Oh well, if that didn't make you laugh, then yu have no sense of humor.
And then you shouldn't read the rest of this post.
Or visit <a href="http://cybersexx.no-ip.com">Wolf's 18+ IRC Site</a> (the main site that this blog belongs with).

00The rest of this post is something I'm slapping together out of pure boredom and whateverness.
Whateverness (®© 2005 - Big_Bad_Wolf) is a word I just made up.
No, you can not use it, it's mine... MINE!!!!
I just called dibs on it, and put the © and ® behind it with my name.
So you can not have it, it's mine, I made it up, I called dibs on it, therefor it is mine.
And my name is not Mojo Jojo.

<div class="serendipity_imageComment_left" style="width: 187px"><div class="serendipity_imageComment_img"><img width='187' height='140' border='0' hspace='5' align='left' src='/sblog/uploads/devilish_mojo_4a.jpg' alt='Mojo<I am right... you shall now apologize and bow down to pay your respects to my huge, manly cojones.
They aren't just huge, but Über-huge (®© 2005 - Big_Bad_Wolf).
And not just manly, but Über-manly (®© 2005 - Big_Bad_Wolf).
Yes, that is correct, I rule.
If you object to that, I overrule.
Hell, I'll overrule, then Über-rule (®© 2005- Big_Bad_Wolf), then Über-overrule (®© 2005 - Big_Bad_Wolf) and slap my Über-huge Über-manly Über-cojones (®© 2005 - Big_Bad_Wolf) in your face.
Think I'm going Über the hill?
Want the truth?
YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!
And that's the truth.
Trust me... would I lie to you?

Well, I guess it doesn't matter.
Because my boredom and whateverness (®© 2005 - Big_Bad_Wolf) have stopped to provide me with inspiration.
Still, impressive to see what one can do when bored and whatevered (®© 2005 - Big_Bad_Wolf).
Which makes me wonder about writer's block.
But that's possibly a topic for another post... or not... who cares.

The issue has just been fixed. I discovered that a fix in Serendipity 0.8-beta5 was responsible for that behavior in SQLite setups.

Garvin

Yup, it's fixed.
Thanks.

First comment that I posted as a test got a 500-error, but the comment showed up on the page after hitting my browser's back button.
After that, the comments no longer went through the 500 error.
And this first 500-error seems to have to do more with other things than with anything in Serendipity, according to my server's error- log that 500 never took place at all.

now to come up with a few twisted articles to post.... heh....
