to allow people to subscribe to new blog entries.

I set up a serendipity blog to allow my niece to keep a blog about her daughter who has leukemia. She didn't want to have to email everyone, so we thought a blog would allow her to post it and people can go read it. But I'm trying to find a plugin that would allow people to subscribe anytime a new blog entry is posted.

Can anyone help?

The easiest way is too provide an RSS feed that people can subscribe to. If your template does not expose this by default the "Syndication" plugin would do this for you.
