configuring for Spanish

I have installed serendipity 1.3.1 with php 5.2.5, installed imagemagick, and successfully made a test posting and uploaded an image.
I went to configuration >> general settings and selected Spanish language, however it did not change the setting.
I have reviewed
http://www.s9y.org/36.html and checked file permissions.
What am I missing?
Thanks
Mike

Did you check your site while you were logged in as an administrator, or just as a visitor.... Does use Spanish when you are logged out? I like to use another browser for my tests like this. If so, then what you are seeing is YOUR configured language when you are logged in. Go to Personal Settings and change your profile's language.
In other words - there are 2 language settings - one that the non-logged-in public sees, and another that you, as a logged in user, sees.
At least, I think it works that way. I have both set to English on all of my sites, so I'm not much help when it comes to the multi-language thing.
Gracias Don
