hi all,
at first: why has the bulletproof-version in serendipity-1.3.1 the version-number 1.3 the latest version on
http://s9y-bulletproof.com/ only 1.2?
My main problem is that I can't activate tbulletproof 1.3 in the admin-panel. I get a timeout - does anyone know the reason for this?
thx and sry for my bad english (:

Can't really help with the timeout thing, but:

The latest s9y always ships with the latest BP. So there is no actual need for an "external" BP download, unless the BP developers feel they need to fix something quickly. In that case, we'll release a BP version on s9y-bulletproof.com so that there's no need to do a s9y release just because there's a small fix needed for BP.
That hasn't happened in a while, which is why the latest version on s9y-bulletproof.com is 1.2

Hi!
bulletproof is version numbered independently from s9y. It's just the revision of the bulletproof template.
My main problem is that I can't activate tbulletproof 1.3 in the admin-panel. I get a timeout - does anyone know the reason for this?
This shouldn't happen. where/when exactly do you get the timeout? Usually this should only be possible to happen on the template overview if y ou have spartacus plugin enabled, but your server is firewalled. in this case you need to remove the spartacus plugin first.

Garvin

I push the button and then the "engine" is working but nothing happens. For the first time bulletproof 1.3 was working. Then I've renamend the folder in "bulletproof_backup" and installed bulletproof 1.2 to try it out - maybe I've broken something with this way?

Hi!
What about the Spartacus plugin I talked about?

NEVER do that! Always use the bulletproof version bundled with your default s9y. You should NEVER need to use an older version!
Please restore the bulletproof directory to what it was when shipped with your s9y.
BUT this should not be related to your current situation, this should actually be caused by the spartaucs plugin because it seems as if your server is firewalled.

Sry, I don't have it installed yet.

I've restored it to the folder "bulletproof" (with a new upload) but it still doesn't work. :/
Do I have to reinstall the complete s9y now?

Hi!
Ah, if you don't have spartacus plugin installed, this shouldn't be the cause.
I've never heard of any other reason why this shouldn't work and timeout.
Did you maybe touch any other files in the /templates/ directory? Try to delete the bulletproof_test directory you created, maybe this confuses things.
If that does not help either, temporarily rename the templates/bulletproof/config.inc.php file to "config.inc.txt". This is the only "active" part of bulletproof that should be able to cause problems...

have deleted all bulletproof-folders under templates and made a new upload from the 1.3.1er-archive... didn't help...

changing the name didn't help, too...
another idea?

Hi!
If that alll doesn't help, there must be something else you modified - did you touch other files?
Are you REALLY REALLY sure you did not install the spartacus event plugin? this is really the only thing I would imagine that could be causing this.
I think I can only help you further if you can give me admin access to your blog to see for some things.

Garvin

Hi!
Thanks for your access. Just like I said in my earlist posting: you DO have the Spartacus plugin installed! D'oh!
You need to remove it, because your provider does not support it.

I habe to thank you, but I've installed spartacus in night from yesterday to today - so the problem still exists (but I will uninstall spartacus).

Hi!
But now that the plugin is removed, I can access the "Manage Styles" page without a problem. No timeouts or so.

Garvin

And activating Bulletproof v1.3 works, too. But the template seems to be broken, there are no pictures or so.

Hi!
Seems because you removed the config.inc.php file?
Restore the original bulletproof files, all of them. then images should also appear.

Garvin
