I've been using s9y for approximately 2.5 years. Since that time, registered users have approximately trippled!!!

Its not surprising - Serendipity continues to provide the best solution for the blogging niche, bar none! s9y is also steadily evolving into a robust CMS solution that can be used well beyond a traditional blogging application.

The solution is a continuing testament to the quality of users and developers contributing to the growth of a superior platform! Congratulations serendipity & endless thanks to all those who have helped get it to this point, and will continue to do so for the next 6,000+ users! 8)

Congratulations, everybody. Time for Don and I to write a book, I think...

Incidentally, Don, where did you get that number? I can find anywhere it's referenced.

I'm going to leave the book writing to Garvin!! Hopefully an English translation will be available if/when there is ever a second edition!

The number comes from the bottom of the main forum index page:

Code: Select all

Our users have posted a total of 77390 articles
We have 6401 registered users

I really don't mean to low-tone this, but I have always found this number a little irritating, mainly because it's "just" the number of registered users in this forum.

It's not like it's mandatory to register here if you're using s9y, so there are probably a great number of people who actually use it, but don't use this forum (think of all those users with some kind of pre-installed s9y in their webspace). Also, there are probably a lot of registered users here who don't actually use s9y anymore. One of them is the author of the Serendipity 2.3 template, as a matter of fact. There are probably also some users who just registered to spam the forums.

Anyway, as a matter of fact, the number of happy s9y users is growing, so no need to get depressed about my remarks
