Announcement feed?

This isn't so much as a bug, but rather a feature request. I'd like to have a news feed that simply keeps track of each release. Right now, I believe the only option is to read the blog.

So, for example, I could subscribe to the announcement feed and be notified when there is a new version, without having to read all the blog entries.

Also, I looked for a bug tracker to put this request in, but there doesn't seem to be one. Is this web forum really all you use to keep track of bugs or have I missed something?

You could subscribe to just the feed for announcements here:

http://blog.s9y.org/feeds/categories/1- ... ements.rss

But that category is used for more than just release announcements. Perhaps Garvin would be willing to create a new blog category just for version releases & updates? Personally, I find there really are not many blog entries, and they nearly always relate to updates/fixes/issues, so I generally want to read them all... (can only personally read the English ones, which most are).

Thanks for the tip. Yes, I'd still prefer it a bit leaner. It may not sound like much, but when you are trying to keep track of many packages, it all adds up very quickly. For instance, the announcement for the German book should certainly be on the weblog, but it's not really an announcement that people just keeping tabs on the project need.

Hi!

Well, there's nothing else we have to offer. There's the SF.net announcement tracker you can subscribe to to be only notified of releases.

Still, tracking the announcements is really suggested.

Garvin
