Help: how to change mysql password??

Hey guys,

i seem to have totally messed it up. I changed the mysql password on my server and forgot to adapt this in serendipity in the application first. Now of course my site does not work anymore, because serendipity cannot access the database.

Is there a possibility to change the password in one of the scripts? I have no idea what the old password was. I do not have access to the admin of serendipity anymore, my only chance would be to hardcode the new passowrd into one of the serendipity files on the server, right?

Please help, thanks

Stephan

Hi!

No problem :)

Check your serendipity_config_local.inc.php file in your s9y directory, there you can enter the new db password.

Garvin

Thanks....one little add-on question

Hi Garvin,

thanks alot.

ähm, well there is a little ad-on question. The file seems not to be accessible via Winscp or Cuteftp anymore (access denied, owner= nobody).

Heard of this problem before?

Best regards,

Stephan

Hi!

You can get yourself privileges if you execute a small php script, check our FAQ on www.s9y.org and search for "fixperm.php" :)
