Database troubles

Something is going on with my DB of late.
It seems that when it connects, the blog spends over 20 seconds before anything begins to load... It seems to be having trouble with the DB. ONce it starts loading its fast as hell. Whats it doing? :)

Hard to judge what with computer and ISP caches. But my traffic is sinking fast because of it, whatever it may be.

I took a look at the DB at the server.
My entire DB is 88 megs (sql).
The entries table of 1300 articles is 4 megs.
The spambloclog table is 80 megs.

In other words without the spambloclog table my DB would be 8 megs rather than 88 megs.

That just doesn't seem right to me! Is it? :)

Thanx

RJ

Hi!

Often that has nothing to do with the Database, but with foreign network connection.

Check if your blog displays foreign RSS feeds or uses some widgets that contact other sites. If the network connection is down, this will lead to your experienced timeouts.

You can disable spamblock logging, if you don'T want that.

Garvin
